Bare Naked Bowls

Cafe in heritage listed semi, 120m2, Sydney, Australia

Bare Naked Bowls is a health conscious cafe in Bronte, Sydney. Located in a heritage listed semi on Macpherson Street we were inspired to create a warm, inviting interior that emulated the same coziness of a home.

We removed the existing plaster to the walls to expose the brick work, polished the existing concrete slab and retained the heritage listed ceiling by adding  industrial style track light fittings. We introduced a series of timber elements deriving from local hardwood species such as blackbutt and ironbark into the lower section of the perimeter walls, and joinery.

The majority of the cafe is one long counter that unifies the space, integrating equipment and a series of display’s where the staff interact with the customer.
